Project Description
Die Studierenden lernen volkswirtschaftliche Entwicklungen und deren Einflüsse auf Unternehmungen zu erkennen und zu beurteilen. Sie erarbeiten sich ein fundiertes Grundwissen und setzen sich mit aktuellen Entwicklungen auseinander. Das Modul vertieft die grundlegenden Konzepte aus der Mikro- und Makroökonomie und behandelt gesamtwirtschaftliche Entwicklungsprozesse (Konjunktur, Wachstum, Strukturwandel) einschliesslich der Geldpolitik (Nationalbank, Inflation, Geldmengensteuerung, Wechselkurs). In der Betrachtung von gesamtwirtschaftlichen Prozessen wird auf die Analyse von technischem Fortschritt in der Ökonomie (Technische Pfadabhängigkeit, technologische Trajektorien, Technologiepolitik) eingegangen.

Project Description
Data and Application Security provides an introduction to cyber security and covers issues related to computer and information security. Security is one of the core topics of the degree programme, so the course also provides a basis on which students can choose their electives. The course covers nine primary topics:

  • Security goals and design principles
  • Economic aspects of security and risk analysis
  • Basics of cryptography
  • Authentication and access control
  • Key instruments of network security
  • Key instruments of web security
  • Software security, vulnerabilities, and attacks
  • Email and mobile device security

Students are required to pass this course in order to register for Network and System Security and Intrusion Detection and Mitigation courses.
Teaching Method
  • The module involves interactive lectures with exercises to integrate theoretical knowledge with practical design and analysis skills.
  • The e-learning platform Moodle is used throughout the course to disseminate course material and for information and discussion.
  • Lab exercises are used to support the acquisition of practical skills.
