At the core of this programme is the application of BIM in the early phase of project development. Participants learn how digital tools, model-based collaboration, and integrated planning processes contribute to greater efficiency and quality throughout the project cycle. The content is practice-oriented and aligned with the current requirements of the construction and planning sectors. The programme is offered in a flexible, two-part structure and can be credited towards a Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) or a Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW).

Conferences and Series

Professional construction site coordination is crucial for the smooth progress of complex building projects. Coordinators ensure that schedules, quality, safety and communication among all parties on site are efficiently aligned, from the initial excavation to commissioning.

In this practical continuing education programme, professionals acquire the knowledge needed to competently manage the diverse tasks of construction site coordination. The focus is on the interfaces between planning, execution and the client, as well as legal, technical and organisational fundamentals.

Key topics include:

  • Roles and responsibilities on the construction site
  • Coordination of trades, schedules and construction processes
  • Site safety (including legal requirements)
  • Communication and conflict resolution in daily site operations
  • Digital tools for coordination, such as construction scheduling models or BIM

This continuing education is aimed at site managers, project leaders, foremen and other professionals who wish to take on responsibility on construction sites.

With up-to-date practical examples, experienced instructors and direct application, the course provides an ideal foundation for professional development in the construction sector.
