The University of Liechtenstein supports students in successfully combining academic studies with elite sport. Our executive directors provide individual guidance in planning your studies and coordinate the application for “Elite Sport Status”. This status offers benefits such as flexible examination arrangements and adjustments to attendance requirements.

The status is granted to students who can demonstrate athletic achievements of national or international relevance (e.g. membership in a national team or a development squad recognised by the Liechtenstein Olympic Committee, LOC).

A written application must be submitted no later than four weeks before the start of the semester. Required documents include proof of athletic performance (e.g. Swiss Olympic Card), a description of your sporting goals, and a training schedule.

The Liechtenstein Undergraduate and Graduate School reviews the submitted documents and makes the decision. The status is valid for one year and may be renewed.

To apply, you must submit a completed application form along with the relevant documentation. With “Elite Sport” status, you will benefit from a customised study structure—enabling you to successfully pursue your degree despite the demands of high-performance sport.

In both sport and academics, I have big ambitions and strive for the best possible conditions. That’s why I chose the master’s degree programme in innovative finance at the University of Liechtenstein. The flexible structure and close exchange make it possible for me to combine my athletic career with my academic aspirations in the best possible way."
