Project Description
Practise listening, reading, speaking, and writing skills and competences to reach an advanced B2 level (cf. CEFR descriptors).

Information about the placement test is provided on the website of the cross-faculty elective subjects > language courses and by the study programmes.

The schedule is preliminary and can later be adapted upon participants' request.

Project Description
In Project Seminar, students analyse a real-world case from a specific industry. Students divide into groups according to their preferences and work on one of four cases through the lens of process management, data and application security, data science, or digital innovation. The course topics change from semester to semester.

Projects will address security applications in practical context. Exemplary topics include but are not limited to security awareness, security management, data protection, incident response, blockchain applications, penetration testing. Projects are expected to deliver either conceptual designs for security operations or specific tools and their assessment.
Teaching Method
  • The course involves interactive seminars with workshops and regular presentations.
  • The faculty and a jury of representatives from regional companies evaluate the students’ solutions in terms of innovativeness and usefulness and provide them with feedback and advice.

After successful completion of the course, students will

Project Description
The Free Master's Thesis builds on the student's preliminary study and is supervised individually by the unit. The thesis contains a developed hypothesis that is verified (or falsified) within the framework of a freely chosen design project. In addition to the actual design project, the free Master's thesis includes the design and production of the thesis book. This consists of three parts: the documentation of the design project, a theoretical report and a technical report. The formal aspects of the thesis and the thesis book are described in the Master's Thesis regulations.

Project Description
This seminar presents the principles of urban planning that allow us to situate the production of architecture within its political, economic and social context. In order to create the kind of architecture that positively transforms the status quo, we require a deeper understanding of these processes, from planning processes to transdisciplinary engagement with the wide range of stakeholders. Students engage with concrete applications for translating scientific knowledge into urban and architectural design, utilising both local and global case studies.

Project Description
The Advanced Studio - Urbanism, Architecture and Society focuses on the connections between people and space, and how this knowledge provides us with the tools to confront urgent societal challenges. It thus aims to equip students with the ability to investigate urban conditions and propose spatial design solutions across a wide range of scales, through research resulting in design outcomes. The studio is usually linked to current research projects and aims for design projects that meet society’s most urgent challenges.
Teaching Method
Guided project work in the design studio. A seminar week focussing on the studio topic is an integral part of the design studio.

Project Description
  • The purpose of this course is twofold: First, invited talks by researchers from other institutions (and, occasionally, from the University of Liechtenstein) bring students in touch with cutting-edge research in their field. Second, students learn how to give an academic discussion of a paper using one of the talks as an example. The discussion will be delivered immediately after the talk in the research colloquium, and students will receive feedback on their performance. Our goal is to provide research colloquia for all specializations, but the course may not be offered for all specializations in each academic year. Students from two specializations may be gathered into one colloquium for organizational reasons. Key topics covered are: Current research in business economics Structure and content of an academic paper discussion

Presentations, discussions with feedback.
Learning Results
