Project Description
  • According to the chosen concentration in the MSc Degree-Program at Hochschule Liechtenstein, students can direct their studies in a similar orientation, or study complementary courses that can be integrative to their concentration.
  • The content is given by partner universities.
Teaching Method
Generally studio delivered and project based, with students being tutored individually and in groups. This is supported by lectures that explain the principles that underlie architectural design and provide the intellectual and cultrual context for the study in achitecture.

Learning Objectives
The module Study Abroad/ Special Studies gives the opportunity to study in an architectural program proposed by one of our none german speaking partner universities in Europe, America, Asia and Africa. The module aims to establish intercultural relationships and learning experiences. Students are confronted to new building cultures and traditions.
Learning Results
At the end of the module each student should have the ability to demonstrate and/or work with:
  • Cultural awareness and sensibility.
  • A researched understanding of design in order to take a position as a designer reflected in the ability to devise and implement strategies.
  • A critical understanding of the intellectual and aesthetic content of self-selected buildings that supports architectural judgement.
  • Researched and critical evaluation of the briefing and performance of buildings.
  • The ability to define what type of research is relevant, what questions to ask, and which formats to record the findings to best serve as a springboard to design decisions.
  • Execute complex defined and self-defined projects of research, development or investigation and identify and implement relevant outcomes.
  • Ability to plan and compose buildings exhibiting complexity in terms of function, scale and context.
  • Knowledge on the humanistic currents through the reading of selected literature
  • Demonstrate the ability to work with other students for.
  • The ability to communicate complex ideas and concepts comprehensibly in visual, oral and written forms.
  • Present and evaluate arguments, information and ideas concerning the various fields discussed in this module, and the ability to integrate these aspects in their individual design thinking and work.

Die Einführungswoche für internationale Studierende: "Introduction week: German and Culture in Liechtenstein" bietet neben der Begleitung der Studierenden während ihrer ersten Woche an der Hochschule Liechtenstein auch die Gelegenheit, andere internationale Studierende kennen zu lernen und Deutschkenntnisse für den Alltag praxisbezogen aufzufrischen.

Interactive lecture with integrated practice through use of case studies.
Learning Results
After completing the module, the students have a broad and integrated knowledge in the area of corporate financing and corporate rating as well as an overview of the state-of-the-art research. They understand various modelling approaches where the influence of special aspects or institutions (e.g. asymmetrical information or taxes) on corporate financing is described, and they can develop and present solutions to these problems. They are additionally able to apply a range of mathematical procedures and to use them in scientific contexts to describe and solve presented problems. They are further able to employ subject-specific vocabulary according to the situation and to apply well-honed reasoning skills.

The principal concentration of the course is:

  • Die Lehrveranstaltung ¿Verhalten in Organisationen' setzt auf der Ebene des Individuums auf und stellt die Wechselwirkung zwischen den Ebenen Individuum, Gruppe und Organisation in den Vordergrund. Besondere Berücksichtigung findet die Systematisierung von organisationspsychologischem Wissen sowie das eigene Erleben und der Anwendungszusammenhang in die Praxis.

After completion of the module, the students recognise the state-of-the-art pertaining to the economic and business-management aspects of the banking and insurance business.
They understand a range of economic explanations on the existence of banks and insurance companies. They realise the necessity of bank regulation and understand the distinct business-management features of banks and insurance companies. They have at their command special knowledge of the development of the banking system and the current methods and modes of operation in daily bank and insurance business.
In addition, the students apply theoretical models on bank theory, on overall bank regulation and insurance business operations in order to argue within a scientific environment as well as to be able to apply these models in a practical context.

The learning outcome of the course is:

Teaching Method
The interactive course introduces the basics of international management through core lectures, which will be critically considered and discussed afterwards. Case studies, papers, and other student activities which will be done in different forms of group work, facilitate the understanding of the theory.
Learning Results
The course "International Management" will give an introduction into core management and leadership functions of a global company, such as strategy, organization structure, human resources management, etc. Afterwards students will be able to understand better the specifics of international management against the background of global change and the cultural context. This will enhance their ability to manage strategic and structural processes in global companies.

Introduction to international management:
  • Students will know the fundamental terms in international management and will be able to distinguish them from each other.
  • Students will gain an overview of the key challenges in a global environment and will be able to connect them to the tasks they will have to cope with in global companies.
  • Students will understand the important role of the cultural context and will be able to distinguish different cultural dimensions and regions.

International management and strategy:
  • Students will recognize the theoretical basics of strategies in an international context and will be able to integrate them into a strategic framework.
  • Students will be able to create a consistent global strategy and to adapt this strategy to specific situations.

International management and organization:
  • Students will learn about different forms of organizational structure and process organization in the international context and will be able to connect them to different types of global strategies.
  • Students will recognize the importance of networks and strategic alliances in the international context and will be able to analyze them systematically as well as to work out recommendations to develop them further.

International management and human resources:
  • Students will learn about different forms of international human resources strategy and development and will be able to connect them to the strategic and structural context of the organization.
  • Students will be able to distinguish between different leadership styles in global companies and will recognize the decisive interplay between leadership, motivation, and control systems.
