A selection of the interdisciplinary elective modules at the University of Liechtenstein includes language courses in English, German as a foreign language, and Spanish. The courses are characterised by their interactive design and small-group learning.

External participants from the region who meet the general admission requirements for university studies are also warmly invited to take part and may attend as guest students for a fee.

Upon request, we are happy to provide written confirmation of successful participation and the language level achieved.

Placement Test and Course Selection

New bachelor’s degree students in Business Administration are automatically registered for the Oxford Online Placement Test. This test can be taken conveniently from home within a specified period before the start of lectures. Detailed information will be published on my.uni.li in due time.

The Oxford Online Placement Test helps determine your current level of English proficiency and supports the selection of the appropriate course.

Students in higher semesters or other programmes will find the relevant requirements in the respective course descriptions.

The levels indicated in the test results, as well as the competence and level descriptions in the English courses, correspond to the levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

Overview and Description of CEFR Levels A1–C2 in English

When choosing the appropriate English course, you should take into account both your overall score and your result in "Use of English" from the Oxford Online Placement Test:

C21_English I (Level B2.2 – C1):
To participate successfully in this module, an advanced B2.2 level is recommended (at least 75 points in both the overall score and "Use of English").
If this score is not achieved, participation in the module FU_Activation in English I is recommended.

FU_Activation in English I (Level B2.1 – B2.2):
This course is ideal for you if your test result is below 75 points in the overall score and/or in "Use of English".
The course helps you develop competences at B2.2 level.

C21_English II (Level C1):
This module builds on the competences acquired in C21_English I.
You must complete C21_English I successfully before registering for C21_English II.
