Manfred Schlapp, geb. 1943 in Innsbruck, studierte Philosophie, Psychologie und Altphilologie. 1966 Promotion zum Dr. phil. und 1967 Sponsion (Diplomarbeit: ¿Grenzen und Möglichkeiten der Sprachstatistik¿). Lebt, lehrt und wirkt seit seinem Studium im Fürstentum Liechtenstein. 1978 gründete er mit 20 namhaften Autoren den PEN-Club Liechtenstein, dem er als Präsident vorsteht.
