Guide
To ensure a smooth application process for a visiting semester at the University of Liechtenstein, we have created a guide for you. Make sure you meet all the requirements for a semester abroad and that you can comply with the deadlines before starting the application process.
If you are applying for a full-time degree programme (including as an international student), you must follow the regular application process.
Topics
- There is a bilateral agreement between the two universities (the University of Liechtenstein and the partner university).
- Students who wish to study at the University of Liechtenstein without a bilateral agreement ("freemovers") must apply through the International Office. The regular tuition fees apply.
- Proof of proficiency in English (upper-intermediate level, B2)
- Sufficient financial means for the duration of the stay

All applicants must be officially nominated by their home university or the coordinator of the student exchange programme via the Mobility-Online nomination form. Unfortunately, we cannot accept nominations by email.
A few days before the nomination period begins, we send our partner universities the nomination instructions along with the link to the online form. If you do not receive the link or need further information, feel free to contact us at international-office@uni.li.
Application for an exchange semester is made through nomination by the partner university. Once the nomination has been confirmed, the partner university registers the applicant in our platform “Mobility-Online”. The student can then continue with the application process. In the next phase, the applicant receives an official letter containing detailed information about the next steps and the required documents, which include:
- a current transcript of records or a diploma
- proof of proficiency in English (English certificate)
- a letter of motivation
Course selection can then be made based on the course catelogue for the relevant semester. Architecture students must also submit a portfolio that meets the defined portfolio requirements.
You can find further information about each degree programme here.
Here you will find an overview of all English-taught modules in the fields of Business und Architecture for the upcoming winter and summer semesters, including their ECTS credits. Another option is to consult the previous course catalogue for detailed module descriptions and learning objectives.
Undergraduate students are not permitted to take courses from the postgraduate programme, except within the framework of the Interdisciplinary Elective Modules.
