You apply to the International Office for a study abroad place at one of the partner universities with which the University of Liechtenstein has an agreement. Please note that you are required to indicate three destination preferences.
Here you can apply for a semester abroad at one of our partner universities. The programme will guide you through all the relevant steps.
The nomination of candidates is coordinated between the programme director and the International Office based on the following criteria:
- academic performance
- completed semesters
- language region
- destination country
- social engagement
The following requirements apply to architecture students. All documents mentioned must be submitted by 1 March (winter semester) or 14 September (summer semester).
After allocation, a separate registration process takes place at the respective partner university, each with its own application deadlines.
Each student selects courses at the partner university and enters them into the learning agreement in Mobility Online. The responsible persons from the respective degree programmes confirm the module selection with their signature. A minimum of 15 ECTS credits must be recognised in order to be eligible for an Erasmus+ grant. A maximum of 30 ECTS credits may be completed per semester.
In the event of a course correction on site, the changes must be reapproved with the responsible academic staff during the stay abroad.
As a rule, external academic achievements are listed with the corresponding ECTS credits as “recognised” in the transcript of records or the Diploma Supplement. Guide to the Recognition of Academic Achievement
For study stays in Europe, you are eligible for an Erasmus+ mobility grant, which is provided by the Agency for International Educational Affairs (AIBA) within the framework of the European Union’s Erasmus+ programme and disbursed by the International Office.
Stays in selected destinations outside of Europe may also be supported through Erasmus+ International.
For international students, participation in the interdisciplinary elective module MILSA – Mentoring Intercultural Learning Through Study Abroad – is mandatory. Further information is available here.
Before and after your semester abroad, you can take an OLS language test in your mobility language.
The EU also offers free online language courses via the OLS platform.
The respective partner university usually provides rooms in student dormitories. In some cases, however, you may need to find accommodation on the private housing market.
To book your accommodation before your arrival, the University of Liechtenstein recommends HousingAnywhere – the international housing platform for mobile talent.
To receive a 20% discount on the booking fee, a VIP profile for the University of Liechtenstein, and priority access to listings in your city of interest, sign up here: HousingAnywhere.
