Youth Green Finance Lab
The Youth Green Finance Lab (YGFL) is a cooperation between the University of Liechtenstein and UNICEF Switzerland & Liechtenstein. It is dedicated to developing innovative financing approaches in the field of blended finance and impact investing, specifically tailored to the needs of young people in the Global South. The aim of the lab is to promote research, teaching and knowledge transfer in the field of youth green finance and to develop practice-oriented solutions that make social impact scalable.
An international group of partners around UNICEF’s Yoma programme forms the environment of the lab, where ideas, expertise and resources are brought together. With this approach, the YGFL contributes to mobilising capital specifically for sustainable projects in the Global South and to opening up new future prospects for young people.
The work of the lab includes the development of financing concepts and proposals (including Convergence, InnoSuisse, Innovation Voucher), the elaboration of a comprehensive Youth Green Finance concept for Liechtenstein and Switzerland, as well as the further development of an innovative “bankable product”. Students from both the Global North and the Global South are involved and given the opportunity to contribute to practice-oriented projects.
Through close cooperation with academia, politics and business, the Youth Green Finance Lab positions itself as a platform for impact-oriented financial solutions. In this way, it helps to make Liechtenstein’s innovative strength visible and to advance sustainable investment models worldwide.
