Campus Parking Regulations

Location and Directions

Campus Parking Regulations

Parking fees apply to all parking spaces at the Main Campus and in the underground garage of the Ebaholz Campus (both located in parking zone 40).

Regular checks are carried out in this regard.

Please observe the signs indicating reserved parking spaces and note that even with an annual, semi-annual, or monthly parking permit, a parking space cannot be guaranteed.

Parking at the main campus is frequently at full capacity. We therefore recommend using public transport, arriving early, or making use of alternative parking facilities near the university.

Please also respect local traffic regulations and no-parking zones, which are regularly monitored by the Vaduz municipal police.

Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (excluding public holidays)

In accordance with a resolution by the Municipal Council of Vaduz, parking on the university campus is subject to charges.

The legal basis is established in Article 63 of the Building Act (Baugesetz, BauG) of the Principality of Liechtenstein, dated 11 December 2008.

All users of a parking space are legally required to pay parking fees for the duration of their stay from Monday to Friday between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Parking fees apply from the very first minute, and the obligation to pay is clearly indicated by on-site signage.

The standard rate across the entire campus area is CHF 1.00 per hour.

A day permit costs CHF 1.50 for students and CHF 2.50 for lecturers and staff. Monthly, semi-annual, and annual permits are also available.

The use of electric vehicle charging stations costs CHF 3.30 per hour and requires a valid parking permit.

On the main campus, parking fees can be paid directly at one of the ticket machines using Swiss franc coins, TWINT, or the Parkingpay and EasyPark apps.

In contrast, there are no ticket machines available in the underground garage at the Ebaholz campus. Payment there is only possible via TWINT or the mentioned apps.

Students, staff, and lecturers can obtain parking permits through the Parkingpay system.

In all cases, it is necessary to register the vehicle licence plate(s) in advance via the university intranet.

If you do not have a valid parking permit, you will be charged a late payment fee of CHF 20.00.

This fee can be paid within 14 days by placing the fine notice and the enclosed payment envelope into the "Internal Mail" drop box at the University of Liechtenstein welcome desk, or by handing it in at the welcome desk.

Alternatively, payment can be made at the reception via card.

If the payment is not made on time, the case will be forwarded to the Vaduz municipal police, and a formal fine of at least CHF 40.00 will be issued by post.

When using the apps, payment can be made by credit card (Parkingpay and EasyPark) or via PayPal (EasyPark).

The parking machines on the campus accept Swiss franc coins only.

The late payment fee must also be paid in Swiss francs.

A complaint can be submitted to the University of Liechtenstein within 14 days, provided that proof of payment or a valid parking ticket can be presented.

If the fine has been issued by the Municipality of Vaduz, the complaint must be addressed directly to the municipal authorities.

Alberto Alessi
A library is an active source of ideas and opportunities that connects me with people who are far away or who lived in other eras. It is a low-tech time machine. Browsing the open shelves in the library of the University of Liechtenstein repeatedly surprises me with unexpected “good-neighbourhood” discoveries and enables me to share these findings with others. The library is the place of surprises."

Business Informatics, AI and Digitalisation

Intensive Courses

The intensive course "Criminal Law and Digitalisation" constitutes the sixth module of the Executive Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Economic Criminal Law. The focus is on the criminal law challenges of digital transformation, particularly in the context of cybercrime, blockchain technology and artificial intelligence (AI).

Participants first receive a comprehensive overview of the relevant criminal provisions on cybercrime. A distinction is made between:

  • Cybercrime in the narrow sense: attacks on data and IT systems using modern information technologies (e.g. hacking, ransomware or DDoS attacks)
  • Cybercrime in the broader sense: use of IT to commit classical offences (e.g. phishing or child pornography)

The course then addresses cybersecurity, including preventive measures, technical protection mechanisms and the legal obligations in the areas of IT security and cyber resilience.

Another key focus is new digital technologies:

  • Blockchain technology and its criminal law implications are explored with reference to the Liechtenstein Blockchain Act (TVTG). The emergence of the token economy is also explained in a practice-oriented manner.
  • Artificial intelligence (AI) — in particular generative AI such as ChatGPT — is presented in its application in professional practice, including in the context of crime prevention. In addition to the legal framework, ethical and criminal law-relevant issues are discussed.

Course contents at a glance:

  • Criminal law classification of cybercrime and cybersecurity
  • Current developments in digital criminal law
  • Blockchain, tokenisation and the Liechtenstein TVTG
  • Artificial intelligence in the legal context: opportunities, risks and legal limits
  • Interactive case studies and practice-oriented discussions

After successful completion, students are able to identify, legally classify and practically resolve criminal law relevant facts in digital contexts. They possess solid knowledge in technology-based economic criminal law and are prepared for competent management of digital risks in corporate and legal contexts.

Participants acquire the ability to recognise criminal law relevant facts in the digital context and to solve them in a practice-oriented manner. They are qualified to deal with the challenges posed by tokens and AI.

This professional education offering is held regularly. The next session and registration options can be found here — if currently available.

A Country with Significant Economic Power

The Principality of Liechtenstein is a small, independent country in the Alps between Switzerland and Austria. With an area of only 160 km², it is the sixth smallest country in the world. The capital, Vaduz, is also the political centre, while the largest municipality is Schaan. Liechtenstein is a constitutional hereditary monarchy, and the head of state is Prince Hans-Adam II. The official language is German, and the currency is the Swiss franc.

The country has around 39,000 inhabitants and is known for its high quality of life and strong economy, driven primarily by financial services, industry, and technology. Despite its small size, Liechtenstein maintains close international relations, especially with Switzerland, and is a member of the Schengen Area.
