Eschner Strasse
Project Description
Eschner Strasse in Gamprin is currently shaped by intense car and truck traffic crossing Liechtenstein, functioning more as an infrastructure corridor than a place to live. The planned construction of a new bypass will completely remove through-traffic, opening a unique opportunity to rethink the street as a vibrant neighborhood axis. At a moment of major growth and historical change for the small municipality of Gamprin, the project reimagines Eschner Strasse as a mixed-use urban space where active and inhabited ground floors support everyday life and social interaction. The studio explores how densification, the requalification of existing buildings, respect for local landmarks, and social integration can be carefully balanced to create a lively and inclusive urban environment. Developed in close collaboration with the municipality of Gamprin, the project allows students to engage directly with real urban challenges and concrete transformation processes.
