• In der Architekturgeschichte wird die Architektur der Moderne im deutschsprachigen Kulturraum sowie in Übersee bis in die Gegenwartsarchitektur anhand von wichtigen Beispielen erklärt.
• In der Landschaftsarchitektur werden die historischen Entwicklungen des Aufgabenfeldes der Landschaftsarchitektur, die Grundlagen der städtischen Freiraumtypen sowie sozialwissenschaftliche und ökonomische Aspekte der Landschaftsarchitektur erläutert.
• Die Lehrinhalte der angebotenen Wahlfächer sind in den Beschreibungen der entsprechenden Lehrveranstaltungen aufgeführt.

Vorlesung, Seminar und Übung

In den Modulen Theorie V und Theorie VI sollen die in den Modulen Theorie I bis IV erworbenen und vertieften Grundlagen zum gegenwärtigen Geschehen in der Architektur und Landschaftsplanung in Beziehung gesetzt werden. Die Studierenden sollen die Möglichkeit haben, ihren persönlichen Neigungen entsprechend, vertiefende Wahlfächer aus den Bereichen Geschichte und Theorie oder Gestaltung zu besuchen.

In der Architekturgeschichte sollen, aufbauend auf den Grundlagen der Lehrveranstaltungen Architekturgeschichte 1 und 2, Kunstgeschichte 1 und 2 sowie Theorien des Städtebaus, Themen des architektonischen Denkens aus der Moderne ausgebaut, in neue Zusammenhänge gebracht und mit Interessen der Gegenwart in Beziehung gesetzt werden.
In der Landschaftsarchiektur soll, aufbauend auf den oben erwähnten Grundlagen und der Lehrveranstaltung Landschaftsarchitektur 1, die historischen und die planerischen Grundlagen der Landschaftsarchitektur vertieft werden.
Die Wahlfächer aus dem Bereich Geschichte und Theorie und aus dem Bereich Gestaltung sollen das Hintergrundwissen der Studierenden spezifisch vertiefen.

Die Studierenden verfügen am Ende des Moduls über:

• Kenntnisse aus der Geschichte der Architektur von der Moderne bis zur Gegenwart une können anhand von kanonischen Beispielen daraus die wichtigsten gestalterischen Grundsätze der Gegenwartsarchitektur nennen und beschreiben und sie in einen gesamtheitlichen, geschichtlichen Zusammenhang stellen.
• Kenntnisse aus der Geschichte und der gegenwärtigen Tendenzen der Landschaftsarchitektur und können diese, aufgrund ihres Wissens aus der Architekturgeschichte, in einen gesamtheitlichen Zusammenhang stellen.

• In der Kunstgeschhichte wird ausgehend vom ¿uvre Çezannes die Grundlagen zum Verständnis der künstlerischen Konzepte des 20. Jahrhunderts gelegt und die philosophischen, soziologischen und politischen Einflüsse auf diese Konzepte erklärt.
• Im Städtebau werden Methoden der räumlichen und gesellschaftlichen Analyse erklärt und die konzeptionelle Grundzüge, Instrumente und die theoretische Stadtvorstellung unter Berücksichtigung der sozioökonomischen und kulturellen Voraussetzungen vertieft.
• Im Bildnerischen Gestalten 4 werden die Topographie, Textur, Raum- , Farb- und Lichtphänomene der Bauaufgabe der jeweiligen Studierenden in Bildsequenzen und Passagen untersucht, die Architektur wird als Idee bildnerisch und gestalterisch bearbeitet. Die Auseinandersetzung mit skulpturalen Qualitäten von Architektur wird vertieft.

Vorlesung, Seminar und Übung

In den Modulen Theorie III und Theorie IV sollen die Grundlagen für das weitere Studium der Geschichte und der Theorie der Architektur und Kunst und das Bildnerische Gestalten vertieft werden. Diese Grundlagen sollen um die wichtigsten Aspekte von Städtebau und Stadtplanung nach Inhalt, Geschichte, Theorie und Methode erweitert werden.

In der Kunstgeschichte soll den Studierenden ein Begriff von den Entwicklungen der künstlerischen Konzepte im 20. Jahrhundert bis zur Gegenwart vermitteln werden. Die in der Lehrveranstaltung Kunstgeschichte 2 vermittelten Einsichten sollen in der Lehrveranstaltung Bildnerisches Gestalten 4 in Form von Projektarbeiten vertieft werden. Diese Projektarbeiten nehmen Bezug auf die Entwurfsarbeiten der jeweiligen Studierenden und sollen diesen neue Möglichkeiten in ihrer persönlichen Arbeit im Entwurf und Konstruktion eröffnen.
In der Lehrveranstaltung Theorien des Städtebaus soll den Studierenden einen Überblick über die wichtigsten Städtebauansätze seit 1900 ermöglicht werden. Damit soll den Studierenden ein erhöhtes Sensorium hinsichtlich der eigenen Entwurfsstrategien vermittelt werden.

Die Studierenden verfügen am Ende des Moduls über:

• Kenntnisse der wesentlichsten künstlerischen Konzepte des ausgehenden19. und des 20. Jahrhunderts und deren bestimmende Faktoren und können Kunstobjekte aus dem 20. Jahrhundert zeitlich und inhaltlich zuordnen und analysieren.
• Kenntnisse der Grundzüge der städtebaulichen Ideenentwicklung seit 1900, deren Ansatzpunkte, Instrumente, Konzepte und Weiterentwicklungen sowie deren konkrete Umsetzungen der behandelten Theorien. Sie sind fähig, diese theoretischen Zugänge für ihre Entwurfsarbeit fruchtbar zu machen.
• Die Fähigkeit Bildkonzepte nachzuvollziehen und inhaltlich auszuführen, sind sich der bildnerischen Mitteln bewusst und können diese in angewandten Projektarbeiten zu ihrer Entwurfsarbeit einsetzen.

• In der Kunstgeschichte werden die historiographischen Grundlagen zur Methodik und zum Stellenwert der Geschichte der Kunst vermittelt.
• Der Aufbau und Veränderung der Bedeutung des Bildraumes in der Malerei des italienischen Trecento an Beispielen von Giotto und Duccio di Buoninsegna, über die Renaissance bis in die Gegenwartskunst.
• Im Bildnerischen Gestalten wird interdisziplinär zur Lehrveranstaltung Kunstgeschichte 1, welche die Entwicklung des Raumbegriffs und der Raumvorstellung von der Renaissance bis zur Gegenwart verfolgt, durch geeignete Übungen, die verschiedensten Medien von Raumwahrnehmung und -darstellung erprobt.
• Im Modellbau wird durch die Einführung/Vorstellung von Modellbaumaterialien (Holzwerkstoffe, Kunststoffe, Mineralische Werkstoffe, Kartonage), die verschiedenen Anwendungs- und Verarbeitungsmethoden derselben vorgestellt.

In den Modulen Theorie I und Theorie II sollen die Grundlagen für das weitere Studium der Geschichte und der Theorie der Architektur und Kunst, das Bildnerische Gestalten und des architektonischen Entwerfens mit Modellen gelegt werden.

In der Kunstgeschichte sollen die Grundlagen zum Verständnis der Entwicklung der Kunst seit der Frührenaissance bis zur Gegenwart gelegt werden. Anhand der Entwicklung des Raumbegriffs seit dem 13. JH sollen die verschiedenen Kunstströmungen in den bildenden Künsten sowie der Architektur exemplarisch aufgezeigt werden.
Im Bildnerischen Gestalten soll, als Weiterführung zu den Arbeiten im Modul Theorie I, das darstellerische Erfassen von architektonischen wie landschaftlichen Räumen wird in verschiedenen Methoden, Materialien und Dimensionen, zeichnerisch wie rekonstruktiv geübt werden.
Im Modellbau soll das Kennenlernen von häufig verwendeten Verarbeitungstechniken und Materialien gefördert werden. Durch die Vermittlung von darstellerischen Methoden und Medien sollen die Studierenden lernen das eigene architektonische Denken mittels physischen Modellen zu externalisieren.

Die Studierenden verfügen am Ende des Moduls über:

• Grundlegende Kenntnisse aus der Geschichte der Kunst von der Renaissance bis zur Gegenwart und über ihre Bedeutung für die Architektur. Sie können anhand von kanonischen Beispielen aus der Renaissance bis zur Gegenwartskunst die wichtigsten gestalterischen Grundsätze dieser Epochen nennen und beschreiben und sie in einen gesamtheitlichen, geschichtlichen Zusammenhang stellen.
• Kenntnisse von räumlichen Darstellungsweisen wie Perspektive, Axonometrie, Isometrie und haben praktischen Umgang mit diesen Methoden für die eigene Entwurfsarbeit.
• Grundlagen des figurativen Zeichnens.

Today's City is everywhere and at the same time nowhere. The old antipoles of city and countryside have been dissolved and are substituted by hybrid spatial and functional nets of urban, suburban and rural fragments. This spatial reality challenges architecture and calls for a new definition of its role and its methods.
The module Design UrbanScape I seeks to integrate architecture, landscape and contemporary concepts in urban and spatial research into a new design concept. It explores the phenomena and processes of actual settlement und landscape by enriching architectural modes of operation and perception with social and cultural aspects. The module Design UrbanScape I relocates the role and the potentials of architecture in the contemporary spatial realities.

The compact projects are set to complement skills and knowledge acquired in the project studios and to broaden the horizon of the students.

The aim of the module is to provide students with the necessary architectural tools and intellectual instruments and avareness to integrate the knowledge aquired in the Courses Design UrbanScape I into a responsible and sustainable professional behaviour.
