Project Description
Das Modul Masterthesis setzt sich zusammen aus (SPO Art. 44):
a) der Masterthesis,
b) dem Kolloquium zur Masterthesis und
c) der Präsentation und Verteidigung der Masterthesis.
Teaching Method
In der Masterthesis wird ein studiengangsspezifisches Problem auf wissenschaftlicher Grundlage selbständig erarbeitet (SPO Art. 46).
Learning Objectives
Mit der Masterthesis wird ermittelt, ob folgende Ziele erreicht wurden (SPO Art. 42):
a) eine umfassende Ausbildung auf universitären Niveau,
b) die Befähigung zu wissenschaftlicher Arbeitsweise,
c) die für die Ausübung des Berufes erforderlichen Grundlagen und fachlichen Kompetenzen
und Kommunikationsfähigkeiten vorhanden sind.

Assessment Methods
In der SPO sind die Bewertung der Masterthesis (Art. 49), das Kolloquium (Art.51-53) und die Präsentation und Verteidigung der Masterthesis (Art.54-59) geregelt.

Learning Results
The participants get to know the basic concepts, theories and models of intercultural communication. They become acquainted with the dimensions of national cultures and know how values in a culture develop. They understand the connection between values, behaviour and communication. They are able to analyse their own and foreign conversational situations, assess and evaluate the parameters. They appropriate for themselves the necessary cultural awareness, thereby enabling themselves to interact correctly in as unprejudiced a manner as possible according to the situation. In this way, they create for themselves a setting that enables them to act sensitively and successfully in intercultural contact. In addition, they are capable of integrating this knowledge into intercultural cooperation and global management.

Bachelor's degree programme in Business Information Systems: no requirements

Bachelor's degree programme in Business Administration:

The following conditions need to be met prior to registering for the module exam:
  • successful completion of all first year full-time programme modules

Additionallly:
For students who started their studies in 2008:
  • succesful completion of the module "Communication in English for Business"
or, alternatively,
  • BEC II certificate

For students starting their studies in 2009:
  • succesful completion of the module "Communication in English for Business"

Project Description
The Introduction Wweek introduces you to living in Liechtenstein and studying at Hochschule Liechtenstein.
Learning Results
By the end of the week you will have
- met other international students and the International Office team
- become familiar with university departments and support services
- familiarised yourself with the local area and important Liechtenstein institutions
- built a foundation level of passive and active German language skills
- received information about Liechtenstein as a country and place to study
- experienced culture and lifestyle in Liechtenstein and the surrounding area
- presented your impressions of this week to an audience

The German lessons and afternoon activities are key elements of the introduction week. Afternoon activities promote the practical application of language skills introduced in the German lessons and will help you practise using German for communication in real-life situations.
Assessment Methods
To obtain 2 ECTS you will need to:
- Participate actively in all lectures and events of the introduction week
- Do outside of class work as required (see schedule)
- Give a presentation at the end of the week
Grade
After the Introduction Week, German lessons continue on a weekly basis (German Starter or Advanced class, 3 teaching units, 3 ECTS credit points). Please note that you need to register for this class within the registration period.

Project Description
Im Rahmen des Moduls Master Lab sollen die Studierenden während der Dauer eines ganzen Semesters ein reales Entrepreneurship-Projekt aus der Wirtschaft bearbeiten. Im Fokus steht dabei nicht nur die Lösung eines Problems bzw. Erfüllung eines Auftrags, sondern das systematische Reflektieren der Erfahrungen, des Gelernten.

Innerhalb der Lehrveranstaltung Action Learning werden die Studierenden mit dieser Art des Lernens vertraut gemacht und sie haben anschliessend die Gelegenheit, innerhalb eines Projekt-Marktplatz ein für sie geeignetes Projekt auszuwählen.

Folgende Arten von Projekten sind möglich:

  • Unternehmerische Projekte aus der Wirtschaft (z.B. Entwicklung und Umsetzung einer Marketingstrategie für ein Familienunternehmen).

  • Planung und Umsetzung einer Unternehmensnachfolge.

  • Forschungsorientierte Entrepreneurship-Projekte aus dem Institut für Entrepreneurship (für Studierende mit der Aussicht auf ein Doktoratsstudium).
Learning Objectives
  • Grundlagen des Action Learnings erläutern.
  • Teammitglieder anhand der Lernstile einschätzen und Gemeinsamkeiten und Unterschiede in der Gruppe reflektieren.
  • Lernen im Team und in den unterschiedlichen Phasen der Teamentwicklung modellhaft erklären.
  • Lernen im Team in komplexen Simulationen mit Hilfe von Action Learning Circles und Assessments der Teamreflexivität anwenden.
  • Entwicklung der Unternehmerteams im Projekt Business Planning in Form von Action Learning Circles evaluieren.

  • Zentrales, kundenspezifisches Kernproblem erkennen und kommunizieren.
  • Adäquate Problemanalyse-Techniken, Kreativitäts- und Problemlösungs-Techniken anwenden.
  • Kundenspezifische Problemlösungen entwickeln.
  • Projektorientiertes Arbeiten im Team (mit Zeitplan, Meilensteinen) durchführen.
  • Unterschiedliche Rollen im Team definieren.
  • Endbericht des Projektes mit integrierter Lernbilanz präsentieren.
  • Techniken zur Selbstreflexion und Teamreflexion anwenden.
Assessment Methods
Für sämtliche Lehrveranstaltungen (Action Learning & Master Lab-Circles) gilt PRÄSENZPFLICHT!

Jedes Projekt wird von einem Coach (70% der Note) sowie von den Mitstudierenden im Rahmen der Action Learning Circles (30% der Note) beurteilt.
