Learning Results
  • After completion of the module, the students have acquired a detailed knowledge and a critical understanding of their research topic.

  • They have at their disposal specialised knowledge of methods and procedures for processing data and explaining it in a structured manner. They exhibit originality and creativity in the application of their knowledge.

  • The students complete research and development projects, applying specialised research methods, survey and development techniques by drawing on their previously acquired skills.

  • Additionally, they present the significant findings of their project to academic and real economy specialists, thereby utilising various communication methods in order to illustrate complex data on a scientific level.

  • Upon positive evaluation of the thesis module the Master's degree is awarded to the candidate.

After completion of the module, participants recognise the characteristics and terminology of comprehensive banking management. Learning Results
The module International Accounting and Taxation introduces the issues of deferred taxes and an effective tax rate. Deferred taxes mean a future tax liability or asset, resulting from temporary differences between the accounting value of assets and liabilities and their value for tax purposes. Deferred taxes are used to calculate the effective tax rate, which shows the effective tax burden of a group of affiliated companies. After completion of the course on International Accounting, the students have at their disposal comprehensive knowledge of deferred taxes and the effective tax rate.

The course of International Taxation provides a comprehensive understanding of the impact of taxation on saving and investment decisions as well as the impact on capital structures. After completion of the course, the students are familiar with the fundamentals of the economics of taxation to the extent that they can explain the influence of taxation on investment and financing decisions.

The lecture materials, legal foundations, accounting standards and illustrations of facts relating to the exercises as well as possible further materials including selected literature are available on the Hochschulforum. Additionally, all the recommended literature is accessible at the library.

Project Description
Development of a 150m2 solar photovoltaics (PV) project in the area of the university of Liechtenstein. Interdisciplinary development of engineering, architectural and business aspects. The solar surface is intended to provide an architecturally sophisticated solution at the selected point in terms of design and expression. In case of success the project is planned to be realized in 2015.

Project Description
Die Studierenden unterstützen den Aufbau einer Lernförderung (Lesen und Schreiben) für Kinder und Jugendliche in Liechtenstein, die aus verschiedenen Gründen dabei Schwierigkeiten haben. Eine Gemeinsamkeit ist, dass keine der unterstützten Personen über die finanziellen Mittel verfügt, um sich diese Unterstützung zu sichern.
Die Aufgabe der Studierenden ist es, einen Beitrag zum Abbau von Barrieren zu leisten.

Dieses Projekt, bei dem auch lokale Institutionen als Unterstützer angefragt sind, ist geprägt von "der Weg entsteht beim Gehen". Es wird sich erst am Weg zeigen, was alles notwendig ist, um zum Erfolg zu kommen. Damit findet dieses Vorhaben nicht nur im schützenden Kontext einer Lehrveranstaltung statt, sondern mitten in der unternehmerischen Realität von Innovation und Aufbau.
Kreativität und Improvisation werden immer wieder notwendig sein.

Ebenso wird diese Lehrveranstaltung einen Einblick bieten, wie man die Initiatoren beratend-begleitendes unterstützen kann.

Themenfelder, die voraussichtlich zu bearbeiten sind:
  • Entwicklung von Grundstrukturen einer Organisation
  • Selbst Lernhilfe für Kinder und Jugendliche geben
  • Gestaltung von lernfördernden Räumen (nicht nur im physischen Sinne!)
  • Umgang mit Schwierigkeiten und Widerständen
  • Eine Idee weitertragen und ihr Wurzeln verleihen

Project Description
Im Vordergrund jedes Auftritts und jeder Präsentation steht die Persönlichkeit, denn nur sie schafft jene Atmosphäre, in der Vertrauen und echtes Interesse entstehen können.
  • StudentInnen lernen mit authentischer Ausstrahlung und Präsenz einen Raum zu betreten und einen positiven Eindruck zu erwecken.
  • Einsatz der Die Körpersprache bei Auftritt und Präsentation, da diese eine entscheidende Rolle spielt, meist aber nur unbewusst eingesetzt wird.
  • Die StudentInnen halten professionelle Präsentationen und werden mit Hilfe von Feedback ihre Vortragstechnik verbessern. Sie lernen den dramaturgisch schlüssigen Aufbau einer Präsentation kennen und üben, wie Sie die erforderlichen technischen Medien mit gelassener Souveränität einsetzen können.
  • Variation und Einsatz des persönliche "Status" in der Kommunikation und in verschiedenen Situationen.
Erläuterung: Status wird meist verbunden mit einem bestimmten Rang, einer Position und der Macht, die eine Person in einer Organisation oder in der Gesellschaft hat. Im Alltag allerdings inszenieren wir uns über unseren Status permanent und zwar zum Teil auch unabhängig von unserer beruflichen Position. Jeder Mensch bevorzugt einen bestimmten Status. Den eigenen Status zu erhöhen gibt mehr Autorität und Durchsetzungsvermögen. Den eigenen Status zu senken und dadurch den Status des Gegenübers zu erhöhen vermittelt Empathie und Sympathie. Beides ist wichtig und in unterschiedlichen Situationen angebracht.
  • Das "yes and" Prinzip, welches aus dem Improvisationstheater stammt und ein Schlüssel für positive Kommunikation und innovatives Zusammenarbeiten ist. Die StudentInnen lernen, wie sie durch den Einsatz des "yes and" Prinzips in unerwarteten Situationen Sicherheit und Vertrauen schaffen können - für sich und Ihre Gesprächspartner gleichermassen.

Project Description
This course looks at a wide range of philosophical topics that deal with human relations to the world from an ethical perspective. Those relations concern here in particular: the environment, political authority, art, and culture. Hence, topics touch on mainly environmental ethics (sustainability), aesthetics (beauty and goodness), political ethics (legitimacy of the state, ethics of redistribution), ethics of culture (cultural relativism vs. universalism, dialogue across cultures), etc.
Our focus will be on cornerstone philosophical theories and insights that are useful for understanding not only our relations to the world, but also our obligations and responsibility. To achieve that we'll engage with great philosophers and assess their arguments against the background of our contemporary questions.
Challenging reading materials will help access deep philosophical insights that are needed to understand complex moral and socio-political issues.

NB:
This course is meant to bring forth the relevance of a philosophical thinking in matters that concern our everyday practical lives. By investigating the foundations of the above-mentioned issues, we'll be better equipped to understand the world around us and formulate clear and well-articulated answers and opinions about matters that concern us all.
