Project Description
Digital Entrepreneurship covers the intersection between digital technology and new venture creation, i.e., company start-up activity. It addresses venture creation of digital artefacts as the core market offering (e.g., software, hardware, smart devices), digital technology as enablers of new venture creation (e.g., 3D printing, crowdfunding, platforms such as appStore), and venture creation in technology-intensive contexts (e.g., BioTech, IT Healthcare, FinTech). The course covers six primary topics:

  • Forms and processes of entrepreneurship
  • Business planning for new ventures
  • Digital technologies as enablers and triggers for entrepreneurial activity
  • Digital technologies as market offerings of emergent ventures
  • Start-up activity in technology-intensive sectors
Teaching Method
  • The module combines interactive lectures with case studies and exercises to integrate theoretical knowledge with practical start-up and business planning skills.
  • Case studies will be used to discuss and illustrate course contents.
  • Contemporary scientific publications from Information Systems and Entrepreneurship will be discussed in class

  • Die nachfolgenden Lerninhalte werden in den umfassenden Kontext des nachhaltigen und verantwortungsvollen Handelns jeder einzelnen Architektin und Architekten gestellt.
  • " Architektonischer Entwurf mit konkreter Aufgabenstellung aus dem Themenfeld Raum und Typologie im Kontext der relevanten für die Umsetzung der Aufgabe wichtigen Parameter und Charakter.
  • Integrierende Themen werden in der Entwurfsaufgabe bearbeitet und durch Fachdozierende aus dem Themengebiet und aus verwandten Disziplinen direkt begleitet.
  • Prozessorientierte Vorgehensweise in der Analyse der Aufgabe und der Entwicklung von zukunftsweisenden Konzepten.
  • Basiswissen zu theoretischen und historischen Grundlagen der architektonischen Raumgestaltung.
  • Anhand von Fallbeispielen sollen die Lerninhalte überprüft, vertieft und weiterentwickelt werden.

Raum & Typologie: Der Raum als Hauptmaterial der Architektur und seine typologischen Verwirklichungen in Gebäuden und Orten, stehen im Zentrum dieser entwerferischen Auseinandersetzung. Die Funktion, der Charakter und die symbolische Bedeutung der gebauten Welt sind untersucht und räumlich übersetzt. Theorie und Praxis treffen aufeinander. Grundelemente wie Boden, Wand, Dach, Fenster, Türe sind in ihrer historischen, politischen, wirtschaftlichen und gesellschaftlichen Entwicklung analysiert und interpretiert. Die morphologischen (Hofbauten, Hochhäuser …) und funktionellen (Wohnbauten, Bürohäuser, Museen …) Eigenschaften von Bautypen sind thematisiert und als Bestandteil ihres kulturellen Kontexts verstanden, erforscht, kopiert, weiterentwickelt und für heutige Anforderungen neu und experimentell formuliert.

Project Description
  • This course builds on what you have learnt in Innovative Finance: Data Science and Machine Learning 1.
  • Based on a large real-world dataset, we will host our own Kaggle competition, where groups of students will compete against each other in a machine learning contest using financial data.
  • The challenge will be different each time, so we might forecast stock returns, classify stocks according to how green they are based on tweets and facebook posts or dynamically put together portfolios of cryptocurrencies that are expected to outperform in subsequent periods.
  • The course is structured as a lab, where we tackle all real-world issues related to the current challenge together, but will also run small competitions to get the most out of our data.
  • Grading will NOT be based on placement in the contest but focus on contribution to the final output and team work.
Teaching Method
  • Lectures are interactive “labs” devoted to hands-on programming.
  • Moodle is used throughout the course to disseminate course material and for information and discussion.
Learning Results
After successful completion of the course:
  • Students understand the practical problems when applying statistical methods to real world financial data.
  • Students are familiar with the necessary tools to tackle real-world problems based on large (and possibly unstructured) datasets.
  • Students can apply the relevant methods to solve real-world problems with the tools available to them.
  • Students are able to effectively communicate the results from their projects to a wider audience.
